Progesterone and oestrogen side effects

Some people experience headaches, breast tenderness, nausea, bloating or mild cramping.

It is common to notice a discharge due to vaginal progesterone.

If you are taking injectable oestrogen or progesterone, a local reaction, infection, or allergic reaction can occur.

Rare side effects with IVF medication

  • Anaphylaxis.  Seek medical advice immediately if you notice swelling of your face, lips, throat or have trouble breathing.

  • In extremely rare cases a blood clot in the legs or lungs or stroke could occur.

If you have any concerns about any of the medications, you should speak to your medical team.
