Common side effects from IVF injections
bruising at the injection sites
local redness and irritation. Temporary redness can be caused by the antagonist injection.
a clear vaginal mucous discharge like ovulation time, due to rising oestrogen levels.
tiredness
nausea
breast tenderness
feeling emotional
mild headaches
temporary weight gain due to fluid retention.
Progesterone and oestrogen side effects
Some people experience headaches, breast tenderness, nausea, bloating or mild cramping.
It is common to notice a discharge due to vaginal progesterone.
If you are taking injectable oestrogen or progesterone, a local reaction, infection, or allergic reaction can occur.
Rare side effects with IVF medication
Anaphylaxis. Seek medical advice immediately if you notice swelling of your face, lips, throat or have trouble breathing.
In extremely rare cases a blood clot in the legs or lungs or stroke could occur.
